What’s next?

Now that JUST A LITTLE CRUSH has been released into the world for reviews, some of you (early readers) might be wondering what’s next?

Maybe even what’s next for two certain characters… Fallon and Mason, maybe?? 🙂

Well, I have good news and more good news (but maybe not the news everyone was hoping for?)

Fallon and Mason are getting their own stories! Just not together…

From very early on, Fallon’s character always spoke to me. She wasn’t just the “roommate” or some random secondary character, she was more than that. A lot more than that. Not only did she play her role in Brinley’s story, she had a story of her own. And, to be honest, there was a time when I toyed with the idea of Mason and Fallon having a complete enemies to lovers thing going on, maybe even a relationship of convenience. Except it just never felt right. The thing is, Fallon has her own fears and insecurities way beyond that confident, outspoken girl we’ve come to know. And in the end, Mason wasn’t her match (which doesn’t mean he won’t play a role in her story too 😉 just not a romantic one). I knew Fallon needed to escape her image and find someone who could push past her walls, challenge her, make her laugh, and just, sort of, blindside her with…well, everything.  I mean, she’s Fallon after all!

On a good note, Mason and even Brinley and Ryder are in Fallon’s story, along with a few other familiar names and a whole group of new friends…including one special guy in particular. I can’t tell you much more than that right now, but I will say, I adore this guy. Like completely love him. He’s sexy, funny, sweet, and oh soo much more!

And if you’re wondering about Mason’s story, I promise to share more on that later. But I will say it might involve a summer trip that takes him completely out of his comfort zone and far away from Brinley.

So there you have it 🙂

I can’t wait to share Fallon’s story also known as…  JUST A LITTLE FLIRT coming Spring 2015!

#RWA14 Highlights!

RWA annual conference recap in three words: Books! Fun! Exhaustion…

Here are my highlights:

I roomed with some fabulous ladies!

I met my agent Suzie Townsend (but forget to get a picture with her!) and my critique partner (who I have worked with for 3 years) in person for the first time!
My CP, Camden, also has fabulous taste in shoes!

We went to some great classes (which led to some unusual text conversations)!

I got books signed by some of my favorite New Adult authors!

We went to lots of fun parties (with cowboys!) And I met lots of awesome writers, but didn’t get nearly enough pictures!

And we finished it all with the RITA awards!
(And got to take this fabulous pic with Simone Elkeles and her hot date)

Then we headed home with more books than I have room for!     IMG_4649

And that about sums it up! Now back to writing…and that ever-growing TBR pile

Announcement! (AKA The Book Deal Post!)

As you might have seen thanks to this amazing cover reveal on USA Today, I have a new book deal! And now that deal has an official PM announcement that I must share!! So without further ado, the official announcement:

And in case you can’t read those tiny letters 🙂 it says: Renita Pizzitola’s debut JUST A LITTLE CRUSH, featuring a college freshman who thought she could leave her mom, high school, and bad decisions behind her, but her past  in the form of a gorgeous tattooed bad boy who still hasn’t quite grown into his ego  isn’t going to make that easy for her, to Junessa Viloria at Random House Flirt, in a three-book deal, by Suzie Townsend at New Leaf Literary & Media (NA). Ahh! So much excitement!!

A few months ago, while (super-agent) Suzie and I were on the phone discussing things, she said something about how she was excited everyone would get to meet Brinley and Ryder soon. After we hung up, it kind of hit me. You guys are going to meet Brinley and Ryder!!!!

Once that amazing news sunk in (well actually I’m not sure it ever really will, but for the sake of moving this post forward, and to avoid posting every excited gif I can find, let’s say it has) I celebrated by getting another tattoo 😀

(Big thanks to Tita over at Little Pricks!)

I’d been wanting to get this tattoo for a while and came very close to getting it back in December (for my birthday), but decided it would have more significance if I waited. Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait too long, but I’m really happy I did 🙂 And the finished product:

(I super love my little stack of books! But if you’re wondering about my thoughts on foot tattoos, a friend sent this to me and it sums them up nicely 😉 ) On a final note, I’d like to say thanks to Suzie for loving this story and these characters as much as I do, and to Junessa at Random House for her enthusiasm in this project. They have both been amazing to work with and there is truly no better feeling than having people whose opinions you value so much rallying behind something you wrote. <3 Okay guys, one more then I swear I’m done 🙂

You can add JUST A LITTLE CRUSH to your Goodreads! And it’s also available for Pre-order! Amazon – Barnes and Noble – Books-A-Million – iBooks – Kobo – Random House

My exciting (agent) news!

I have news! What kind of news? Agent news!

Back in October, I emailed a certain agent about a New Adult manuscript I’d recently finished, and was thrilled when she requested my full. Let’s be honest, I was beyond thrilled just to get here…but it gets better!

In November, I received a lovely email from this agent, complete with revision notes. They were awesome too. Completely spot-on with my own vision, and very helpful. We chatted a bit on the phone about the revisions, and I set to work on them. We chatted when I had questions, she offered advice, I worked some more, and then I sent her the revised MS…and calmly waited to hear back from her.

Two weeks later, I received another awesome email, complimenting my revisions. (I actually had to read this email twice because the first time I was skimming for a rejection, and upon second reading realized she’d used the words love and revision in the very first sentence!) She had some minor notes and mentioned hopping on the phone in the new year.

Now this particular agent has mentioned how Agent/Author relationships are much like long distance relationships. And really, this was one of those moments where I wanted to overanalyze everything leading up to this phone call. We’d chatted on the phone before about revisions, so maybe that’s all this call would be too…??? But then again she was putting a lot of time and energy into my MS so…???

The holidays passed, I worked on my revisions and we set up a time to talk on the phone. I sent her back the revisions…and two days later I got The Call!

Suzie Townsend officially offered me representation!!

So I tried to be all:

But really I was all:

As excited as I was, I knew I should take a week to notify other agents and think about my decision. So I did. And I thought a lot about it. Like how well we’d worked on revisions together. How communicative Suzie is. How she shared my vision and enthusiasm. And ultimately how lucky I would be to have her as my agent.

So I officially gave her my answer.

And I couldn’t be happier!

This team is absolutely amazing, and I’m honored to be working with Suzie and New Leaf Literary!

Books — Where’d you go?!?

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update.

Due to Lyrical Press being acquired by Kensington, the Gossamer Series and Dream On are temporarily unavailable. Lyrical is working to get all titles back up ASAP under the new Lyrical/Kensington imprint, but we’ve been told it can take 30-60 days. Thanks for your patience!
